When a seemingly unstoppable new enemy threatens the very existence of the Earth, Admiral Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) is forced to work outside the boundaries of Starfleet's rules to combat this deadly new foe. When planet after planet winks out of existence, yet Starfleet refuses to act, Chekov turns to Commander Tuvok (Tim Russ, who also directs), the new head of Starfleet's covert operations division, Section 31. Together, they assemble a new elite strike-force, consisting of rogues, outcasts and criminals, led by the fearless yet haunted Lexxa Singh (Adrienne Wilkinson). The Renegades' mission is simple: take on an army and stop their leader, Borrada (Bruce Young), from destroying the Earth. Outnumbered and out-gunned, the ragtag crew is in an adrenaline-pumping race against time and space. But they soon find their foes are the least of their concerns: the real trouble may be coming from within!
If you would see it as the pilot of a studio funded series you would say it has too many fake VFX and greenscreen shots, loads of cheesy acting and a cliché riddled plot. If I were to tell you that it was a fan made film backed by kickstarter made for a lousy 375.000$ you would say very nicely done! They got a lot of big names to commit to this project for no pay I'm guessing. Star Trek celebrities Walter Koenig, Tim Russ and Robert Picardo. And also Sean Young (looks old), Corin Nemec and Edward Furlong (he looks like he died, got out of his grave and went into zombie acting. Man, he looks awful! I took me 5 mins to recognize his corpse). They are going to turn this into a webseries and also try to get CBS to pick it up for a real series but my guess is that won't happen. They would certainly need better writers to come up with a better constructed story, better acting and directing and better VFX. I respect them for this but if this is the future of Star Trek then I don't know…This rogue thing and the style doesn't feel like ST. They will have to up the quality to convince non-geeks to watch. This reminded me too much of Andromeda…
I have watched all 726 episodes and then you get some idiot that dis&#39;s something he or she knows nothing or at least very little about. I suggest otherwise. I found it very watchable and especially give credit to original actors. I feel like i wanna say go watch a block buster Tom Cruise movie or something (i do). However, this is no protection. If your star trek fan it&#39;s quite watchable. Reminds at times of the original with Admiral James T Kirk. series. &#39;Live long and prosper&#39;.&#39;Nano, nano&#39; LOL.<br/><br/>OK i need ten lines. The original actors are getting quite long in tooth, however there performance compared to others is obviously with only a few exceptions.
